About Us

The Redhawk Native American Arts Council is a not for profit organization founded and maintained by Native American artists and educators serving the tristate area. Since 1994, the Council is dedicated to educating the general public about Native American heritage through song, dance, theater, works of art and other cultural forms of expression. The council represents artists from North, South, Central American, Caribbean and Polynesian Indigenous cultures.

Redhawk Council produces four of the largest Native American heritage celebrations in the Northeast. The arts council also hosts festivals, workshops, theater presentations and educational programs, addressing stereotypes and fostering an awareness of Native cultures from a historical standpoint, with a focus on contemporary cultural practices.

Sharing Native Art Forms

The council creates venues for Native artists to share their art forms with the public and each other, providing opportunities to become financially self-reliant. Contracting artists for educational programs, lectures and festivals for various organizations is another way the council helps support the First Nations artist community. A Variety of Programs

Since 1994, The Redhawk Native American Arts Council’s performing artists have been educating students, delighting audiences from Radio City Music Hall in New York to Hong Kong, China, and assisting corporations with their diversity awareness. Our performers have created programs that educate our audiences about Native American history while emphasizing our respective cultural practices today.

Redhawk Native American Arts Council has fashioned breathtaking performances that will make one’s heart soar while experiencing an explosion of color and sound!

Traditional dances and stories are combined with a contemporary style of presenting that continues to capture audiences around the globe. The Redhawk dancers create educational programs for school groups from pre-kindergarten through university level, as well as various libraries across the tri-state area.

Redhawk also hosts key note speakers and produces fun, exciting diversity awareness programs for corporations and government agencies across the nation as well.
